3 grandmotherly tips to cover grey hair without using dye

Gray hair is one of the first signs of aging and, although we usually try to hide it using dyes or similar products, more and more women and men are choosing to wear it with enough pride to become a fashion statement.

However, if you’re relying on dyes to mask gray hair , we list below 3 equally effective natural alternatives, which allow us to achieve similar results but without damaging the hair and without spending a lot of money.

Indeed, in the long term, commercial dyes can weaken and damage hair, accelerating hair loss.

Coconut and lemon
Mix a little coconut oil with 3 tablespoons lemon juice and apply to gray hair.

Leave the mixture to stand for an hour, then wash your hair as usual.

Henna
Henna is prepared by shredding the leaves of the Lawsonia Inermis shrub and is used as a natural colorant. It can also be used to cover gray hair.

Mix 200 ml water with 75 g henna (increase the quantity if you have very long hair).

Apply to all hair and leave on for a few minutes. Then wash hair as usual.

Ivy extract
Ivy leaves are excellent for blocking gray hair. From them, we obtain a very dark-colored extract, ideal for covering gray hair.

Simmer 45 grams of ivy leaves in a liter of water. Once softened, remove from heat, cool and drain.

Apply to all hair at least 3 times a week.
