3 home methods to remove limescale from shower glass

The limescale that accumulates on the shower glass is unsightly and unhygienic, which is why it is essential to eliminate it periodically. Most industrial products for removing limescale are loaded with chemicals that are harmful to us and the environment.

Fortunately, it is also possible to eliminate limescale with products of natural origin , which are not only as effective as industrial ones, but allow us to save some money without putting our health and that of our loved ones at risk.

The shower is one of the areas of the house that tends to get dirty more easily, as it is almost always poorly ventilated and in constant contact with humidity. Furthermore, some types of water can cause a greater accumulation of limescale on the glass.

White vinegar and baking soda . This combination is able to activate a chemical reaction capable of eliminating limescale and other residues from the glass surface.

Mix 125 ml of white vinegar with 200 grams of sodium bicarbonate, once the effervescent reaction is finished, rub the solution directly on the shower glass using a sponge or brush.

Leave it to act for 30 minutes, then rub again and rinse with plenty of water. Finally, dry with a clean cloth.

Baking soda and lemon juice . If you prefer to use lemon juice instead of white vinegar, try this trick. The advantage of lemon juice is that, in addition to eliminating limescale, it polishes surfaces.

Mix 200 grams of baking soda with the juice of 2 large lemons until you obtain a smooth mixture. Apply directly to the glass and leave to act for 20 minutes, then rub with a sponge and rinse. Repeat every two to three weeks to keep your shower free of limescale.

Apple cider vinegar and lemon . Being two acidic ingredients, their combination eliminates limescale residues and other microorganisms that accumulate on the shower glass.

Mix 250ml of apple cider vinegar with the juice of one lemon, 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda and 500ml of hot water. Spray the solution on the shower glass, rub well with a sponge and leave to act for 20 minutes. Finally, rinse with warm water.
