Aluminum foil and sugar, the perfect trick that you did not know: what is it for?

Aluminum foil and sugar are indispensable at home, as they allow us to prepare good and appetizing dishes, so they are never missing in the kitchen pantry.

Aluminum foil and sugar
Aluminum foil is generally used to cook food in the oven, in order to keep it moist and not to dry it out, with the aim of slow and gentle cooking, which is also suitable for the first than second courses of meat and fish.

Instead, sugar allows us to make delicious desserts and more. But be careful, because both can also be useful in other situations, for example to improve psychophysical performance by providing the brain with an important and interesting energy supply.

The higher the blood sugar level, the more perfect the performance of the following hours will be. Of course, you should not exaggerate, because glucose can damage or endanger the body, especially if you suffer from certain diseases (eg diabetes). In particular, it is advisable to use raw sugar rather than refined sugar, which is much more harmful.

How does the sugar change after opening?
Anyway, anyone who has a sugar bowl at home, and probably everyone in the world, will have noticed that sugar, and in particular raw sugar, forms inside, because of the humidity, and annoying lumps that can become an obstacle depending on the cooking you want to do.

To solve this inconvenience, as absurd as it may seem, it is enough to use aluminum foil. It is a remedy that comes to us directly from our grandfathers and grandmothers, which has been passed down from generation to generation for several years and is really effective.

Grandma’s Method for Removing Clumps
The following is a pretty handy way to dissolve the lumps once and for all and get the sugar back to how it was before like it was just taken out of its original packaging. Here’s what to do: Take the sugar and place it in the plastic wrap. Place the two elements in the oven at 150° for a few minutes.

Then you remove the foil and the sugar is completely lump free, perfect for any recipe no problem. You can also put the sugar in the microwave with a bowl full of water, this keeps it moist and within seconds it is perfect.

How to prevent sugar from hardening
Even if these means solve the problem of sugar lumps, the best advice that can be given is of course to prevent them. Here’s how to do it: Take the sugar bowl and place a marshmallow in it, which does not alter the taste of the sugar by remaining pulverized.

To prevent it from hardening and forming lumps, it must of course be stored in an airtight container, and it is even better if it is first poured into a plastic bag before being placed in the container.

If it is not in contact with the air, the sugar remains perfect, does not harden and retains over time its sandy and soft consistency as well as its caramelized and sweet taste.

Brown sugar or refined sugar? Here’s how to choose
There are those who prefer brown sugar, and those who prefer white sugar, according to someone there is no difference between the two types of sugar, according to someone else and it is obvious. For example, we are used to hearing that white sugar is more harmful than raw sugar.

In reality, the molecule of both is the same, i.e. sucrose, so there is no difference. The only thing that can harm the body, and therefore health, is excessive consumption of sugar, one like the other,
