Ingredients
2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
3/4 cup unsalted butter, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Pour the two cans of apple pie filling into the bottom of the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle cinnamon over the apples.
Step 3: Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the top of the apple filling. Do not stir!
Step 4: Place the thin slices of butter over the entire surface of the cake mix, ensuring as much coverage as possible.
Step 5: Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges. Serve warm.
Notes
For an extra crunch, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts on top before baking.
