Bed pillows, how to freshen them up: You always do this step in the laundry

Sleep is a fundamental aspect of our lives that directly impacts our health and overall well-being.  To enjoy a restful rest, it is important  to create a comfortable atmosphere in our bedroom. One of the key elements of a comfortable bed is pillows. However, over time, unpleasant odors and dust can accumulate in the pillow, affecting the quality of your sleep.  Luckily, there are natural remedies you  can use to freshen up your bed pillows without the use of harsh chemicals. Here is the laundry method.

Washing method for refreshing bed pillows

Keeping your  bed pillows fresh and clean  not only improves your sleep quality but also promotes your health. Choosing natural remedies to refresh your pillows is a healthy and sustainable option compared to harsh chemicals. Using fresh air, sunlight, baking soda, lavender, essential oils, and white vinegar, you can keep your pillows staying fresh and smelling fresh over time. This is the laundry method along with other great tips.

Fresh air and sunlight

One of the first things you can do to freshen up your bed pillows is to expose them to fresh air and sunlight   On a sunny day, take the cushions outside and let them air out for a few hours. The sunlight helps kill any bacteria and mites that may thrive on your pillows. Make sure to turn the pillows over to expose both sides to the sun’s rays.

Natriumbicarbonat

Baking soda is an  excellent natural remedy  for removing unpleasant odors from pillows. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on your pillows and leave it on for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight. The baking soda absorbs odors and makes the pillows fresh.  You can then vacuum up the remaining baking soda with the help of a vacuum cleaner  .

Lavender

Lavender is known for its delicious, relaxing scent   To freshen up the bed pillows with this flower, you can find a simple solution. Take a cotton bag and fill it with  dried lavender flowers.  Place the bag between the pillows or in the pillowcase. The delicate and soothing scent of lavender helps create a relaxing and fragrant atmosphere in your bedroom.

Essential Oil

Essential oils are a natural way to refresh bed pillows and create a comfortable atmosphere. You can  put a few drops of your  favorite essential oil on a tissue or cotton ball and place it between the pillows. Oils such as eucalyptus, peppermint or lemon oil exude a fresh and stimulating scent. Remember to only use high-quality essential oils and check their  instructions for safe use  .

White vinegar to freshen bed pillows

White vinegar is a powerful natural cleaner that can help eliminate lingering odors from pillows. When washing pillows, add  1/2 cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle  . This eliminates unpleasant odors and leaves the pillows fresher and cleaner. Remember to follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions for your pillows.
