  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cups (24 servings)

Ingredients

3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, cashews, almonds)
1 cup bite-size pretzels
1 cup garlic-flavored bagel chips or rye crisps
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt (e.g., Lawry's)
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a little heat

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
Step 2: In a very large roasting pan or two large baking sheets with high sides, combine the Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, mixed nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips. Ensure the pan is large enough for easy stirring.
Step 3: In a small bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Whisk until thoroughly combined.
Step 4: Pour the seasoned butter mixture evenly over the dry ingredients in the roasting pan. Gently toss and stir with a large spoon or spatula until all components are as evenly coated as possible.
Step 5: Place the roasting pan(s) in the preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour, stirring the mix thoroughly every 15 minutes to ensure even baking and crispness.
Step 6: After baking, remove the Chex Christmas Mix from the oven. Spread it out in a single layer on paper towels or parchment paper on a cool surface. Allow it to cool completely and thoroughly before storing. The mix will become crispier as it cools.
Step 7: Once entirely cool, store the Chex Christmas Mix in airtight containers at room temperature. It will stay fresh for up to two weeks.

Notes

For best results, stir the mix every 15 minutes during baking to ensure even coating and prevent burning. Cool completely before storing.
