Ingredients
3 tablespoons light soy sauce
2 tablespoons Chinkiang black vinegar (or rice vinegar)
1 tablespoon chili oil with flakes
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sugar or honey
1 green onion, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, combine the light soy sauce and Chinkiang black vinegar, whisking gently to integrate.
Step 2: Add the sugar (or honey) to the bowl and stir until it is completely dissolved into the liquid base.
Step 3: Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, allowing them to sit for a minute to infuse the sauce.
Step 4: Drizzle in the toasted sesame oil and the chili oil with flakes, stirring lightly so the oil marbles on the surface.
Step 5: Garnish with the sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving immediately with your favorite dumplings.
Notes
If Chinkiang vinegar is unavailable, use balsamic vinegar mixed with a splash of water, though the flavor will vary slightly.
