Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Step 1: In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes to create a panade.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, soaked breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley.
Step 3: Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until just combined. Do not overwork the meat.
Step 4: Using a small scoop or spoon, form the mixture into balls approximately 1.5 inches in diameter.
Step 5: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 6: Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Step 7: Alternatively, sear in a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until browned on all sides and cooked through.
Notes
For extra moisture, try using a mix of beef and pork. Always check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
