Effective Ways to Remove Stains from Hard Steel – Home Tips to Make Steel Shine

Steel is a very popular material in the home because it can add a touch of modernity and elegance to rooms.

Unfortunately, it often has stains that are not at all pleasant to look at.

With these tips it is actually possible to remove stains from steel and make it shine again. Let’s see them together!

The vinegar

Let’s start with an ingredient that is known for its powerful polishing properties: vinegar. To use it, simply fill a bucket with lukewarm water and pour in half a glass of vinegar. Then dip a sponge into the mixture, wring it out and rub it over the steel surface several times, always using the non-abrasive side.

Then rinse thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and dry. You can also soak a cloth in vinegar and wipe it directly on the steel.

citric acid

Another ingredient that is just as effective as vinegar and more environmentally friendly is citric acid, which acts as a natural rinse aid.

Simply add 150g of citric acid to 1 liter of demineralized water, mix and pour the resulting solution into a spray bottle. Then spray it on the steel surfaces, paying particular attention to the areas where the stains are concentrated, and leave it for a few minutes before wiping it with a microfiber cloth.

Backpulver

Although it does not have a polishing function like vinegar or citric acid, baking soda has a slightly abrasive effect that gently removes stains.

In fact, this ingredient can be used on most surfaces without damaging them. So it’s no wonder that it is ideal for cleaning all types of floors. So make a sort of baking soda paste by mixing 4 tablespoons of baking soda with water and then applying it to the non-abrasive side of a sponge.

Then rub it over the steel to be cleaned, let it take effect briefly and then rinse thoroughly.

The lemon

Lemon is a citrus fruit known for its many properties that make it a boon for eco-friendly household cleaning. In fact, it is a natural anti-limescale agent that allows you to remove stains, degrease and above all polish. In short, a great ally to keep the steel always shiny!

To use it, you need to cut it open and rub one half over the pickled steel as if it were a sponge! Then wipe with a cloth to dry.
