Italian gastronomy is famous all over the world, because it is full of tasty recipes made with fresh and excellent  quality ingredients  . All our preparations are distinguished not only by the raw materials we use to make them, but also by the spices and  seasonings  . The latter, in fact, give flavor, flavor and uniqueness to all our dishes.

Among the things that can never be missing in the kitchen is, without a doubt, garlic  , which  , in addition to being essential for the preparation of some of our dishes, also has various  beneficial properties  for our body. This ingredient, in fact, is considered a true  natural antibiotic  thanks to the presence of allicin. In addition, it is capable of strengthening the immune system and contains several minerals, including zinc; manganese; iodine; the iron; magnesium and many others.

We can safely say, therefore, that garlic is one of the most versatile products that exist, ideal both for use as a seasoning in the kitchen and for our personal well-being. Therefore, something good and correct would be to be able to  grow it at home  . It’s possible? Here’s everything you need to know about it.

How to grow garlic in the garden.

If you live surrounded by nature or, failing that, have land near your house, you can recreate a  small  garlic plantation. This way we will have the possibility of always having it at hand.

When you decide to plant garlic, you should first pay attention to the time of year you decide to do it. The ideal time is autumn  ,  so you can proceed with the harvest during the summer.

In addition, it is good practice to buy garlic to plant in  stores specialized  in selling plants; Always insert them into the ground with the tip facing up and water the sprouts regularly, but without exaggerating with the amount of water, throughout the year.

Recreate a plantation inside the house.

If, on the other hand, you want to plant garlic despite not having a garden, you can also do it indoors. The only thing we need is a  container  (a jar of yogurt or margarine is enough); a little  soil  and, of course, a few cloves of garlic.

Home planting

First, make holes in the bottom of the container we have available, place it on a saucer and pour less than two centimeters (about half an inch) of soil into it. Next, you can proceed to insert the whole garlic cloves into the soil, always  facing upwards  and without removing the skin. At this point we just have to add more soil, this time about an inch and a half.

Once this procedure is completed, we will have to take care of our small garlic plantation regularly. It is necessary to place it in a sunny place  in the house, water it and cut the flowers that form from time to time. This will help retain all the flavor of the garlic.

When, over time, we begin to notice the presence of leaves, it means that the  plant’s growth  is developing correctly and that, starting next summer, we will be able to benefit from the fruit of our labor.
