Mold is the worst thing that can form in the shower.
If we had to classify the areas of the bathroom where it occurs, the shower would undoubtedly be at the top of the list. Of course, this is due to the constant passage of water, moisture and residue from personal care products.
However, with the right method, mold can be easily removed.
Today I’ll explain to you step by step the cotton trick for a brand new shower without any trace of mold.
What you need
Find out what you need to use this simple but very effective trick.
They are products that you will surely have at home:
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Cotton pads or cotton pads (the kind used to remove makeup from the face)
Hydrogen peroxide is not commonly used on a daily basis. However, it has excellent cleaning properties that you can use to keep your home clean.
Be careful when using hydrogen peroxide. Remember that you need to use 10 parts hydrogen peroxide, which is 3%. You also cannot use this method on marble or natural stone.
How does it work?
The procedure is quick and easy.
First, place the hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl to keep on hand.
Take the cotton pieces or discs and dip them into the hydrogen peroxide without squeezing them. Then place them in any mold-infested areas of the shower.
Generally, these areas are corners or rails where the silicone tends to turn black over time.
Once the discs are in place, press lightly to allow the hydrogen peroxide to come out and work properly.
Leave the cotton pads there until they are dry. Then carefully remove the mold and scrub it off with a brush. It’s removed in no time.
Rinse well and you’re done.
Another anti-mold method: vinegar
Vinegar is at the forefront of all sorts of problems in the bathroom, including mold, due to its tremendous effectiveness.
To do this, spray a generous amount of this product onto the affected area and leave it on for at least 20 minutes.
Then scrub with a lightly abrasive brush or sponge. Finally, rinse with water and you’ll shower like new.
Avoid using this product on marble or natural stone.
