How to make scented salt to keep laundry spotless for days?

During winter, laundry does not always smell good due to long drying times and excess humidity.

But don’t panic: your pantry is full of ingredients with unexpected properties. One of them can perfume your clothes while reviving their color. And which one is it? The salt.

In this article we tell you how to make scented salt quickly, so that your clothes smell good for a long time.

How is it done?

Do you know how to make scented salt? Here you have what you need

500 g of coarse salt
1 glass of fresh lavender flowers
10 drops of the essential oil of your choice
Place the fresh lavender flowers and salt in a bowl. Next, add the water needed to cover the salt. As a general rule, you should put an inch of water on top of the salt. Next, add the drops of essential oil of your choice and that’s it!

You can choose the essential oil fragrance you prefer. However, I suggest lavender essential oil to achieve the perfect harmony of aroma.

Next, close the bowl with a lid and let the mixture sit for a week. Once this time has passed, check if the salt has completely absorbed the water.

If so, the scented salts are ready to use. On the contrary, if there is still water in the container, add more salt and let it sit for a few more days.

Finally, place the scented salts in airtight containers and store them in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight.

You can let the salt sit for longer, as the more it absorbs the scent of the flowers and oil, the more fragrant it will become.

How do you use scented salt in the washing machine?

When the scented salts are ready to use, why not try them on your clothes to leave them clean, fresh and scented?

To do this, simply add 1 tablespoon of this scented salt to the washing machine drum with dirty clothes and start the washing cycle.

For an impeccable result, the ideal dose is 1 tablespoon per 5 kg of clothes. At the end of the cycle, your clothes will be fresh, scented and shiny.
