Over time, it is normal for some metal objects to begin to rust. Continued use, whether exposed to moisture or outdoors, will slowly deteriorate them and begin to rust and stain anything they come in contact with.
To remove rust from metal, there are products such as vinegar, baking soda and aluminum foil, all of which are very effective and very inexpensive.
To use white vinegar, pour it into a container and mix it with an equal part of water, then soak the metal object in the solution for at least 8 hours. Finally, remove the object and scrub with a toothbrush to remove all residues. Dry well when finished.
Another effective product is baking soda. In this case, you should spread baking soda directly on the rusty object and leave it overnight. The next day, scrub with a wet toothbrush and dry thoroughly.
You can also use a potato, whose oxalic acid will help remove the rust buildup. This method is especially useful for small objects, such as knives. Insert the knife into the potato and leave it overnight, the next day use a brush to remove the rust residue.
