How to remove stains and sweat from pillows naturally

Pillows are one of those household items that need special care to be kept in optimal hygienic condition and suitable for regular and safe use.

Although hidden by pillowcases, sweat or saliva stains on pillows can create a perfect environment for bacteria and dust mites to come into contact with our respiratory system.

In most cases it is certainly not necessary to take drastic measures such as buying new pillows, but it is possible to clean and stain pillows naturally to make them like new again, and below we list two effective methods.

Vinegar and baking soda. The combination of these two ingredients gives us a perfect solution for whitening and disinfecting pillow fabric. Both ingredients have antibacterial and bleaching properties that make it easier to remove dirt and sweat stains.

Put the pillows in the washing machine and fill it with water. Then pour in 80 grams of baking soda and 120 ml of white vinegar. Start the complete wash cycle and, when finished, let the pillows dry in the sun.

Warm water and lemon juice. The antibacterial and disinfectant properties of lemon are certainly no secret. Not surprisingly, this natural ingredient is also one of the most effective for whitening and bleaching pillows.

Pour 2 1/2 quarts of warm water and the juice of 6 lemons into a bucket. Dip the pillow into the solution and add more water until it is completely covered.

Let it soak for a couple of hours, then wash the pillow normally and let it dry in the sun.

Now that you know how to bleach pillows and remove stains and sweat, try applying either method and get them back to their original appearance.
