Naturally eliminates bad odors from drains

The use of air fresheners usually helps us mask this odor, but its effect is not long-lasting. Fortunately, there are eco-friendly home remedies that we can prepare with natural ingredients to facilitate this task.

Why do bad smells occur in pipes?

Detergents and soaps

Its constant use on sinks releases a series of chemicals that stick like grease in the pipes, this wears them out and gives off a bad odor with every stimulus.

backwater

There are areas of the pipes where the water stagnates, it is almost impossible for this not to happen, what you can do is clean it continuously so that the microorganisms do not proliferate.

Pipe sealing

Faucets and sinks are deteriorating due to moisture and mold. As a result, an annoying silicone odor appears, aggravated by the odor produced by the bacteria.

old pipes

Not only can these be easily damaged, but they also provide the best environment for yeast and bacteria to grow. Standing water and waste build up layers that can clog pipes.

leftover food

One of the main causes of bad odors or clogged drains is food scraps that end up down the drain. This is why it is important to use a filter that allows you to retain the small pieces of food that remain on the plates.

Eliminates bad odor from pipes

It’s a combination of baking soda and white vinegar, two eco-friendly ingredients widely used as an alternative to commercial cleaning products.

Vinegar kills bacteria, germs and mold, the same way it can break down mineral deposits in water because it is an acid. On the other hand, baking soda helps remove grease and dirt.

You will have to:

½ liter of hot water

1 glass of white vinegar

½ cup of baking soda

What you should do:

Bring half a liter of water to the boil and before it starts to boil, add the white vinegar and mix well.

While it’s boiling, mix the baking soda inside the tube you want to clean.

Remove the vinegar and water mixture from the heat and pour it into the sink to combine it inside the tube with the baking soda.

An effervescent reaction will immediately occur, try putting a stopper at the inlet of the tubes. This will prevent water from falling on it for at least an hour.

Or, if possible, leave it on overnight and repeat the trick at least once a week.
