The oven rack can be very difficult to clean, especially if it is used often and there is embedded dirt. Let’s take a look at how to make it new.
Food residue and encrusted grease could actually make the oven rack unusable.
Oven rack: why it gets dirty
The oven is a great ally in preparing our meals. Whether static or fan-assisted, the oven contains internal racks that allow you to place trays or containers with the dishes you want to cook. The oven rack (although there can be several) can be placed at different heights thanks to a sliding system.
When cooking, it is inevitable to get dirty and, just as the stove can get dirty, the oven rack can also get dirty. Cleaning this part of your appliance can be very complicated. In fact, in some cases, the chemicals sold for this purpose, which promise great things, don’t deliver.
Fortunately, there is a very quick and rather natural way to perfectly degrease the oven rack. Although it may seem unusual to you, it is actually so effective that it will amaze you.

How to clean it quickly
First, you’ll need a very large bag, like the ones used to dispose of garbage. The bag should be able to hold the rack of your oven. Next, you’ll need a tablet of dishwasher detergent. If you don’t have it, don’t worry, you don’t have to go out and buy it. All you have to do is replace the tablet with common laundry detergent.
Next, you’ll need a bowl in which to place the tablet or detergent. In the bowl, to be poured directly onto the tablet, you will put hot water so that the contents can dissolve well. Of course, the water should not be too hot, otherwise you could puncture the bag. If the tablet is not completely dissolved, you can use a fork to speed up the process.
You will need to add 3 or 4 tablespoons of baking soda to the mixture . This will create a very powerful combination that can remove even the most stubborn fats. The liquid should be poured into the bag. Make sure that it is not too thick and that the bag does not pierce.

At this point, the bag should be sealed tightly so that the liquid does not accidentally come out. Next, place the bag with the rack inside on a flat surface. The oven rack in the bag will need to sit for about two hours. If it is very dirty, extend the time, for example, let it sit overnight.
When the necessary time has passed, remove the oven rack from the bag and rinse it under running water. No scrubbing will be necessary. It will be as good as new and ready to be used again.
