The rooms in our house are not always scented , because bad smells are always around the corner!
This can be due to a lack of air circulation , the release of vapors during cooking, and many other reasons.
Whatever the reason, know that one orange is enough to perfume every room in the house ! So, let’s see how to do it together!
Natural orange scent
First of all, let’s start by making an orange perfumer, which can bring a fresh smell into the house and make bad smells disappear. Its preparation is very simple , because you will only need:
- Half a liter of water
- Orange
Collect the orange juice, then put the water in a saucepan with the zest and bring everything to the boil. We advise you to filter the juice in order to eliminate all the seeds. Once the boiling point is reached, add the previously squeezed orange juice and pour it into the pan.
Then , let the mixture cool in the dish and pour it into a spray bottle. And there you have it: your air freshener is ready to use!
Simply spray the mixture in rooms or on surfaces and that’s it: a pleasant smell of orange will invade your interior!
NB : Remember not to spread it on marble and natural stone objects or surfaces.
On the table
Another way to scent your home using only oranges is to create a scented centerpiece. Pour half a liter of water into a saucepan, then add the zest of an orange inside. Then bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat.
Finally, all you have to do is pour the mixture into a glass container , add a few pebbles to the bottom, then place it on the table. To make it a more ornamental centerpiece, you can embellish it as you wish, giving free rein to your imagination!
Alternatively, you can also place the pot in the corners of rooms that give off bad odors!
On radiators
With the arrival of winter, we all use radiators to bring warmth into the house. But did you know that it is possible to use these radiators to scent the entire house?
All you have to do is cut the peels of an orange and place them on the radiator, as if you wanted to dry them: a fresh scent will spread throughout the house! Obviously, we remind you to replace the peelings from time to time, when they have become too dry and no longer have an odor.
In the closet
It is not uncommon to smell bad odors in the house, but also in the closets, where we often find a musty smell which, if not eliminated, could be transferred to our clothes. Even in this case, orange can come to our rescue!
Collect the peels from the oranges, taking care to gently remove the white attached to the peels, then let them dry to prevent mold from forming. Insert the peels into the breathable bags and place them in the corners of musty-smelling cabinets.
In the shoe closet
Unfortunately, shoes absorb sweat and accumulate moisture, so they tend to produce bad odors, which are then transferred to the shoe closet. How many times have you opened it and been hit by an unbearable smell?
Put the orange peels inside your shoes and leave them on the balcony in the fresh air overnight, to start absorbing the bad smell from your shoes. Then, add the orange peels in bags and place them between the shelves: goodbye to bad smells in the shoe cabinet!
Warnings
We remind you not to use any of these methods if you are allergic or hypersensitive to oranges and the smells they give off. Also remember not to use these tips on marble or natural stone.
