Pumpkin jam: tasty, nutritious and rich in antioxidants

Who doesn’t like to have breakfast with a nice slice of whole wheat bread accompanied by a tasty natural jam? Below we suggest a recipe that is as unusual as it is tasty: that of pumpkin jam.

Pumpkin is a popular and widely used vegetable in our cuisine. However, pumpkin jam is not as well known as it deserves. Follow the following recipe to the letter to prepare it at home.

Ingredients: 500 grams of pumpkin cut into pieces, 250 grams of sugar, 1 glass of water, a few drops of vanilla extract.

Pour the water and pumpkin pieces into a saucepan, then add the vanilla extract and sugar.

Heat over low heat, stirring well with a wooden spoon. After a few minutes the pumpkin will begin to “melt.” Keep stirring until the sugar caramelizes and the mixture is orange in color.

Withdraw from the stove and let cool, then whisk until the consistency of jam is achieved.

Pour the pumpkin jam into a sterilized jar fitted with an airtight seal, close and wait 30 minutes before consuming.

Store the pumpkin jam in the refrigerator.
