Therefore, it is not surprising that it gets dirty quickly and is regularly plagued by unpleasant smells. The downside is that you almost never get rid of these insensitive smells, even if you try to clean it regularly and even constantly ventilate it. Go Hop, no more worries, unnecessary costs and wasted energy. Among these few tips, you will inevitably find the ultimate solution to get rid of those cursed smells!

One thing is certain: none of these tricks will save you the hassle of cleaning your bathroom and toilet. As you know, this chore is inevitable. In fact, it would be ideal to maintain this room daily and clean it thoroughly once or twice a week. However, to eliminate bad odors, these products are very effective and are in no way inferior to the chemical products you are used to. The difference is that most of these ingredients are natural, ecological and economical!

Bathroom: The key to always smelling good

Before we describe the different ways to make your bathroom smell nice, it is important to consider a few aspects.

  •  The most important thing is to ventilate the room regularly and properly, either by opening the window, if there is one, or by using an extractor hood.
  •  The presence of unpleasant odors is a feature of the bathroom. Regardless of the number of flavors used, the result will never be truly optimal without adequate ventilation.
  •  In other words: the aromas only associate with the bad smells that are already present. It is therefore a vicious circle that must be avoided if possible.

Toilet paper impregnated with essential oils

For this first tip we offer you a very simple idea but one that can prove to be very promising. Simply add a few drops of essential oil to toilet paper. Opt for fruity flavors like lemon or orange, or even a mix of both. Your bathroom will be scented with a delicate citrus scent. Repeat the process regularly to hide bad smells and keep the room fresh.

homemade air freshener

Of course, you can also prepare your own air freshener with selected ingredients to get rid of annoying toilet odors.

Take a 0.5L spray bottle. Mix 1 teaspoon dish soap, 1 teaspoon ethyl alcohol, 10 drops pine essential oil, 5 drops peppermint essential oil, and distilled water. Pour the mixture into the bottle, shake well, and spray onto your toilet bowl four or five times. You will quickly notice that the strong smells have completely disappeared.

scented toilet brush

Smart tip: put some scented dishwashing liquid in the toilet brush. Allow the perfume to absorb well and clean the bowl with the brush. Same principle, you will quickly notice that the freshness is there!

Smell the garbage

It goes without saying, but it is of course necessary to empty the trash can in the bathroom every day. Otherwise, it quickly becomes full to the brim with various dirt: no wonder that the smells stay in the room.

Once it is emptied and well cleaned, it is now a good idea to perfume it: To do this, mix 2 cups of baking soda, 6 to 8 tablespoons of water and as many essential oils as you want. Pour it into the shape of silicone ice cubes and let it dry for 24 hours. The use of baking soda should not be neglected: this powerful cleaner has excellent disinfecting and deodorizing properties. In combination with the other ingredients, it effectively and quickly eliminates all bad smells.

Decorative air freshener

Here’s a good idea! Have you ever put potpourri in your bathroom or near the toilet? Great boost. Aside from the fact that they don’t last forever, their effectiveness is completely in vain if you don’t change them regularly. Here’s another alternative to try: take a small empty vase, sprinkle it with a portion of deodorizing beads, and place an artificial flower on top. It adds a nice decorative touch to the room and gives the entire environment a pleasant scent. Also, don’t forget to take a look every now and then to see if the scent is still as vibrant as before.
