1 cup cold vodka (80 proof / 40% ABV, chilled)

Step 1: Unpackage the Jell-O. Carefully pour the contents of the 6-ounce Jell-O package into a large, heat-proof mixing bowl.
Step 2: Dissolve the gelatin. Add 1 cup of boiling water to the Jell-O powder. Whisk continuously for at least 2 minutes, or until the Jell-O powder is completely dissolved and there are no visible granules remaining. Ensure it's fully dissolved for a smooth consistency in your Vodka Jello Shots.
Step 3: Incorporate the vodka. Pour 1 cup of cold vodka into the dissolved Jell-O mixture. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly. Using chilled vodka helps in the setting process and prevents too much alcohol from evaporating.
Step 4: Portion into cups. Carefully pour the liquid Jell-O and vodka mixture into 1.5-ounce or 2-ounce plastic shot cups. Fill each cup about three-quarters full to allow for easy handling and potential garnishes later.
Step 5: Chill until set. Transfer the filled shot cups to a refrigerator. Chill for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to ensure the Vodka Jello Shots are fully set and firm. For best results, cover the tray of shots lightly with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming on top.
