It is not easy to get clothes that are always scented in winter, since we often end up with a bad smell due to excess humidity.
In fact, it may happen that you smell musty smell on hanging clothes and you only know how to remove it by washing them again.

With baking soda
The first remedy is to use baking soda, an ingredient known for its anti-odor properties . So equip yourself with:
- 500 ml of distilled water
- 25 drops essential oil (choose your favorite)
- 2 tablespoons baking soda
Start by dissolving the baking soda in the water, mix well, and then add your chosen drops of essential oil . At this point, pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray the mixture on the hanging clothes and voila: what a scent!
If, on the one hand, baking soda will help absorb the musty smell, on the other hand, essential oils can provide a pleasant aroma to fabrics .
As for essential oils, you can use the perfume you prefer, however we suggest that you prefer lavender or tea tree essential oil, since they will not only perfume your clothes, but will also have an anti-inflammatory and bacterial action . However, rose, lemon or mint essential oils are also recommended. As if that weren’t enough, this mixture can also be used to freshen clothes that smell like smoke!
Pickled
In addition to baking soda, vinegar can also be an ingredient capable of neutralizing bad odors and, therefore, can be used on freshly washed clothes. Furthermore, it is also considered a blessing in removing musty smell from bathrobes and towels!
The process of making this deodorant is actually very simple, as you will need:
- 500 ml of distilled water
- 100 ml wine vinegar
- 4 tablespoons of vodka
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Then pour the distilled water into an old spray bottle, then add the wine vinegar and vodka and stir the mixture. At this point, add the baking soda and the drops of essential oil you have chosen, trying to prefer the aromas also recommended in the previous remedy or the more lemony ones such as lemon, orange, lavender, etc.
Finally, spray the mixture thus obtained on your hanging clothes and once dry you will see what a perfume!
With citric acid
Finally, let’s move on to one last remedy that can remove the musty smell from washed clothes: citric acid , which is an eco-friendly compound derived from citrus. This ingredient is also known for its ability to soften clothes without the use of commercially available fabric softeners!
Therefore, simply pour 150 grams of citric acid into a jar containing a liter of distilled water and then add 15 drops of essential oil to obtain a more intense fragrance.
At this point, pour the resulting mixture into a spray bottle or mist and your laundry deodorizer is ready to use!
