Unclogging clogged pipes is certainly not an easy job, especially if you do not have the proper equipment. However, what not everyone knows is that there are solutions that are not so aggressive but equally effective in solving the problem. Let’s take a look at the best ones.
Baking soda is one of the most effective natural ingredients for unclogging clogged drains. Since it is an ingredient we always have at home, it is also a practical and quick method in case of emergency.
Applying the method is super simple. Pour about 100 grams of baking soda down the drain. Immediately afterwards pour 200 ml of white vinegar and wait for the effervescent reaction to finish. Wait about 5 minutes, then pour hot water down the drain.
Additional tip: You can take advantage of the effervescent reaction of baking soda and vinegar to scrub the surface of the sink with a sponge-it will look as good as new!
If the pipes are clogged because of food residue or hair, you can unclog them with an iron wire. Make sure it is long enough and that the tip is bent into a “U” shape
Put the wire down the drain and remove as much residue as possible. Finally, pour boiling water down the drain to complete the cleaning. If bad odors are coming out of the drain, also apply the baking soda method described above.
This is probably the first method you should apply if you have a clogged pipe at home. Practical and quick, it is the most effective for quickly unclogging the drain of your sink, shower, or toilet.
Using it is super simple. Fill the sink with water, place the plunger on the drain, making sure the rubber part covers it all. Apply pressure to clear the clog.
Next, pour boiling water down the drain to remove all debris.
Hot water and salt
These two ingredients are most effective in unclogging a clogged drain and eliminating odors.
Bring the water to a boil, and once it reaches it, turn off the stove and add 100 grams of salt. Stir well to dissolve it.
Pour the solution down the drain and let it sit for a few minutes.
