6 Useful Uses for Eggshells

We usually throw away the eggshell because we think we can’t do anything with it. We are used to identifying it as waste, but the truth is that eggshell has many uses.

In Mundo Positivo we are going to tell you the main uses that we can give to eggshell. We hope you will find them useful and use them.

1- Use as beautiful pots to germinate

If we manage to leave the egg shell almost whole and only break the upper part, we will have a bowl shape. This shape allows us to make a series of small pots to place small plants or germinate seeds. If we place these pots in a maple egg we will have a real ornament for our kitchen. As seen in the photo, it is very simple and it is very beautiful.

2 – A great help for plants

Plants are usually attacked by different pests, such as snails or slugs. In this case, eggshell is ideal, because  by placing small pieces of shell on your plant you will scare these animals away  . Also keep in mind that if you crush it more, you can mix it into the soil to give your plants more strength in growing.

3 – Sharpen and clean

If we use the blender or the multiprocessor, even if we try to clean them as best as possible, the most stubborn blades always remain for deep cleaning. In order for the shell not only to clean well but also to sharpen the blades, you need to  put the crushed shell with water into the glass and pass it through the multiprocessor   so that when it moves inside it removes dirt and sharpens the blades.

4 – Strengthens the nails

Just like you buy it in a perfume store, you can do it directly with the shells. To do this  , crush the shells into powder and add them to your nail polish bottles  . Then paint your nails and you will give yourself calcium for growth. A simple but very useful tip.

5 – The tomatoes will grow strongly

Whether we have a cherry tomato plant on our balcony or a field of tomatoes in our garden, we know that tomatoes are a fruit that, when they grow, due to their weight,  lowers the trunk that supports them  and with that we lose the harvest.

Just so you know, farmers often use the eggshells, distributing them under the tomato plants in the soil and with this they make the trunks strong enough to support the tomatoes.

6 – Remove leftover food

Every time we wash a pan or pot, there are elements that are no longer attached to it. This is where if you crush the egg shells and place them on the sponge that you are going to wash with, it will help you remove the stuck food remnants in just a few minutes. Keep in mind that this is not a suitable method for Teflon bottoms.
