Ingredients
2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
1 package (approx. 17.5 oz) Snickerdoodle cookie mix (including cinnamon sugar packet)
3/4 cup (1.5 sticks) salted butter, thinly sliced
Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Optional: Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
Step 2: Pour both cans of apple pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread them into an even layer using a spatula.
Step 3: Evenly sprinkle the dry Snickerdoodle cookie mix over the top of the apple filling. If the mix includes a separate cinnamon sugar packet, sprinkle that over the dry cookie mix now.
Step 4: Arrange the thin slices of butter across the entire surface of the dry mix, covering as much area as possible to ensure even melting.
Step 5: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
Do not stir the layers! The butter needs to melt into the dry mix naturally to create the crust.
