Cockroaches are the order of the day and it is a common insect that could enter the house and never disappear. According to experts, they are so attracted to certain smells and leftovers that they find the corner to nest and start a family. If not, chemical repellents are recommended, not just traps or anything else that could harm them. For this reason it is good to use natural ingredients that make them go away. Not only that, this plant is hated by cockroaches.

Why do cockroaches enter the house?

Cockroaches are very fast insects, they manage to hide in places that are impossible to reach and in a short time they lay their eggs. Their main food  is excrement and can carry pathogenic germs that are highly harmful to humans. Not only that, they love easy food for anything they can find on the table or inside the pantries.

Many wonder where cockroaches come from, although it is not always easy to give an answer. Generally, they take advantage of the accesses that lead to them in attics or cellars. They can go from water pipes, electrical outlets to small cracks in the walls.

Plant against cockroaches: the natural repellent

The first thing to do is keep the house clean, without crumbs or open packages inside the pantries. Cockroaches do not like clean places free of food, for this reason it is necessary to make a slightly greater hygiene effort. Then there’s a plant that cockroaches hate.

It is called tansy, with its intense yellow flowers and an intoxicating aroma. This is definitely the best method to keep insects away, as the smell of camphor for these insects is unbearable.

  • Marseille soap, through a solution in a container with water. Simply spray it on upholstery and corners of the house to let roaches escape;
  • Essential oils generally have a strong, unpleasant odor, especially rosemary. No less important is the plant, which will be placed in several strategic corners of the house;
  • The same thing happens with catnip, a natural disinfectant that is placed in various corners of the house. Obviously with due attention to the pets present.
