Baking soda in the shoe rack, here we explain why you should start doing it too: unthinkable

Baking soda in the shoe rack

Baking soda is an excellent ally for housewives, not only does it clean, remove stains, purify, but it can be used in the kitchen in a thousand ways, even for cleaning.

It is useful in many situations,  and it is also ecological  , therefore totally respectful of the environment.

Housewives use it to degrease pots, dishes, to wash the sink and stove, in addition to vinegar, it is a miracle.  Lately many people also put it inside the shoe rack or closet.

Baking soda to combat humidity

Surely we are talking about an extravagance,  it is actually a beautiful trick  , because baking soda helps combat humidity. Sometimes it happens that you take clean, new, semi-new and smelly shoes and clothes out of the closet or shoe rack that obviously cannot be worn because they stink.

The reason for the smell is one: they were affected by mold. If you want to solve the problem once and for all, just put some baking soda in a small box with a lid.  The lid must obviously be perforated with very small holes  , neither too many nor too large.

In this way, the baking soda absorbs the musty smell and eliminates any moisture present. Clothes and shoes  are free of bad odors  almost immediately, the result is evident, they seem fresher than ever. This technique works if the chopped container is replaced once a week.

Clothes drawers affected by mold, here is the solution

You can do the same with the linen drawers or the towel drawer. In this case,  humidity and mold are often caused by our mistakes.  Sometimes we make the mistake of storing wet towels or underwear and not perfectly dry ones. The musty smell is difficult to combat and the problem usually persists.

Some people try to solve the problem by purchasing scented sheets for bedding, room scents, moisture absorbers, but none of these can solve the problem. In fact, discomfort should not be avoided, but rather resolved from the beginning.  You need something that can absorb bad odors  and moisture. A container with baking soda inside, not in excessive quantities, is capable of doing this.

Smelly cobbler, baking soda and essential oil are the miracle remedy

If the shoe rack gives off a strong odor coming from both the shoes and the mold, just place the bowl of baking soda on a shelf, or a glass with  4 or 6 drops of essential oil inside.

The quantity should be defined based on the smell present in the shoe rack, while the fragrance is based on your taste.  Baking soda absorbs odors  , while oil smells. Unlike the perfumes we buy in the supermarket or in various home stores, essential oils last longer and longer.

Dry cleaning

Few people know, but baking soda  is also useful for dry cleaning  . When you don’t have time to wash the blanket in the washing machine, or by hand, with soap and water, for example when low temperatures catch us off guard, the solution is to proceed with “dry” cleaning. This is obviously not  intended to remove stains or sanitize the garment,  it can only eliminate bad odors.

A little baking soda  eliminates mites and musty odor  . Then, sprinkle the blanket or blanket with the product, massage the fabric with a brush or directly with your hands, then vacuum it to remove remains of baking soda and mites. And here is the blanket almost as clean. The same remedy can be applied for cleaning carpets.
