Crisp White Pillows Without a Washer: Grandmas’ Dry Cleaning Method

Very clean white cushions, whether on the bed or on the sofa, it doesn’t matter because they are essential and it is a pleasure to be able to use them and show them in their best light.

These   act as a headrest   when you want to rest and relax. They are a very soft support, but   are also beautiful to look at when placed on the bed or sofa.

For this reason, all women in the world would always like to show off white cushions   in their kitchens and bedrooms.

Pillows are white and spotless, so they get dirty quickly.

Pillows   usually turn yellow after a few uses   because they accumulate oil and sweat and get dirty easily. They can also be washed several times a week, however, immediately afterwards they lose their good smell and their clean, pure color.

Obviously washing them every day is impossible, it is not comfortable, especially in winter, because   with low temperatures they do not dry. By drying them at home, leaning on heat sources,   you still run the risk of using them or keeping them still damp. The end result would be bad because the pillows would end up smelling damp   instead of clean   .

Dry clean them, grandma’s advice

Therefore, the valid alternative is to dry clean them. The practical and functional remedy comes directly from our grandmothers   , who, like cleaning and advice at no cost, are truly unbeatable. Anyone who has baking soda at home, which is one of the allies that   no one could ever give up   . Baking soda is also great in this case, it allows you to have   white and very clean cushions in a short time.

Among other things   , baking soda should be used in small quantities   , without water. The product allows you to sanitize and refresh the cushions by spraying the surface and leaving it to act for up to an hour. If you want to have an even more interesting effect, you can mix   baking soda and oil drops of any flavor. The result will be fabulous.

To remove it after the exposure time has elapsed   , use a brush or simply a vacuum cleaner. Baking soda is used because it has fantastic cleaning and absorbing action,   instead adding oil helps the pillow smell good   and kills germs and bacteria.

Talc, another valid remedy against stains

A second remedy features talcum powder, which since ancient times has been used to soothe redness on children’s skin, to counteract irritations, perspiration, and to dry out skin moisture. In the same way and   due to the same absorbent properties,   it is capable of absorbing grease from the cushions and eliminating all stains.

Simply sprinkle the pillow with talcum powder and   let it sit for a few hours,   then like baking soda, use a brush to remove excess dust or a vacuum cleaner, which is undoubtedly more comfortable.

How to use vinegar and other natural products that we have at home

Both remedies are accompanied by vinegar,   which quickly refreshes and eliminates bad odors from the pillow. Then you pour vinegar into a bucket of water, then dip a cloth in the solution, wring it well because it should not get wet at all.

To the solution obtained, you can add a few drops of essential oil of your choice among various perfumes. Orange, tangerine, lavender are indicated that also help you relax and sleep. Then   wipe the damp cloth over the pillow   and let it dry in the sun or air.

You can’t miss lemon and salt   , which have an incredible cleaning and stain-removing action on all fabrics. In fact, lemon was once used to revive the natural whiteness of clothes, while salt is known for its great degreasing and antibacterial properties. Then, the two products are mixed until a paste is obtained, which is sprinkled directly on the pillow, in small quantities.

Particular attention is paid to stains   with a damp cloth. Let it work for an hour. After the necessary time, it can be removed with a dry cloth or, failing that, a clean cloth. Eventually, the pillow will look like it has been washed or purchased.

Marseille soap

The final remedy for spotless white pillows   is to use Marseille soap.

You only need to pour a glass into a liter of warm water. Soak  a cloth in the solution, squeeze it very well and rub it on the pillow. Then let it dry, the pillows will be perfect.
