A foolproof recipe for creamy, tangy, and perfectly smooth deviled eggs, featuring expert tips for easy peeling and the best filling consistency.

  • Total Time: PT27M
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

6 large eggs
3 tablespoons high-quality mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Paprika for garnishing
Fresh chives (optional garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with at least one inch of cold water.
Step 2: Bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 12 minutes.
Step 3: Transfer eggs to an ice water bath for 10 minutes to stop the cooking and make them easier to peel.
Step 4: Gently crack and peel the eggs, then slice them in half lengthwise.
Step 5: Remove yolks and place them in a small bowl. Mash with a fork until no large lumps remain.
Step 6: Stir in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Step 7: Pipe or spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
Step 8: Sprinkle with paprika and chopped chives before serving.

Notes

For best results, use eggs that have been in your refrigerator for about a week.
