How can you quickly dry laundry in winter if you don’t have a dryer? 6 effective tips

Most people don’t have a tumble dryer to quickly dry clothes that have just come out of the washing machine. So what do you do when it gets cold or you don’t have time to let your clothes dry on their own?

Here are 6 simple tricks to drastically reduce drying time

1. Start washing:

If your clothes are not delicate and you don’t want to damage them, increase the spin cycle. The higher the spin cycle, the more excess water is removed from the textiles.

2. The towel trick:

This is a very effective trick, especially for clothes that have been washed in the washing machine.

Spread a clean towel (or even two) on a flat surface. Place the garment over it, stretching it well to avoid wrinkles, and then begin rolling the towel around the garment (like a sponge cake rolled up in a Christmas log) so that the towel absorbs most of the moisture.

You can also try placing an extra towel over the garment before rolling it up. Follow the steps a second time with a different dry towel.

Iron

3. Ironing:

With this method, you place the garment on a towel over the ironing board, then cover it with another towel (as thin as possible) and iron on top. The towel should absorb all the moisture and heat from the iron to dry the garment, but without touching it directly so as not to damage it.

4. Place the clothesline in the brightest and least humid place in the house:

Moving it towards natural sunlight will help you dry your clothes more easily.

5. A clothesline:

If possible, choose a clothesline with bars as far apart as possible to allow air to circulate between items of clothing.

6. A Fan:

If you are in a hurry, you can also get help by placing a fan directly in front of the clothes for half an hour, this will speed up the drying process.
