The mop is one of the most useful and practical cleaning tools for thoroughly washing the floor, which is why it is essential to keep it clean and free of bacteria.
Although it is a cleaning tool, the mop tends to get dirty and change color, due to the accumulation of dirt and bacteria, which sometimes also causes a bad smell.
Not to mention, a dirty mop is also much less effective at mopping the floor.
Lemon and vinegar trick to clean the mop
This tip consists of preparing an effective degreasing, disinfecting and sterilizing solution that will leave the mop like new.
You will need 120 ml of white vinegar, the juice of one lemon, 2 liters of warm water, 5 tablespoons of floor cleaner and a deep bucket.
Fill the bucket with vinegar, lemon juice, water and detergent.
Dip the mop into it and let it sit for about 3 hours. If the mop is very dirty, you can leave it overnight.
Then rinse the mop with plenty of running water and let it dry, preferably in the sun or in a well-ventilated place.
Once dry, the mop can be reused. It is recommended to do this cleaning at least once a month to keep the mop always clean.
