The best way to deep clean any type of floor

The floor is perhaps the area of ​​the house that we clean and wash most frequently. Dirt and bacteria   accumulate on the floor and it is very important that it is constantly clean. Not to mention the aesthetic factor, a dirty floor makes our entire house look unsightly.

Floor cleaning,  however, varies greatly depending on the material. Not all materials clean in the same way and not all products are suitable for all types of floors.

Precisely for this reason we offer you   different cleaning methods depending on the type of floor   , using only natural ingredients and available to everyone.

Remember that before starting to wash the floor with any of the following methods, it is essential to sweep or vacuum to remove all dirt, dust and food remains and to be able to wash safely.

Ceramic, porcelain or stoneware floors.

These floors can be easily cleaned by preparing the following natural cleaner:

  • 4 tablespoons denatured alcohol
  • 4 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon liquid Marseille soap
  • 3 liters of hot water

Mix all the ingredients in a bucket until they are perfectly integrated.

Dip a microfiber cloth into the bucket and wipe it over the entire floor.

If the floor is very shiny, double the amount of isopropyl alcohol and replace the vinegar with a few tablespoons of baking soda.

Wooden or parquet floors

They are beautiful and give a special touch to our homes, however they must be cleaned with great care since this type of material is extremely vulnerable to chemicals.

To wash wooden floors or wooden platforms, prepare the following natural cleaner:

  • 2 liters of hot water
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon liquid Marseille soap

Mix all the ingredients in a bucket until you obtain a very homogeneous mixture. Soak a microfiber cloth in it, then wring it out well and use it to clean the entire floor surface.

Then do another pass with a perfectly dry cloth. In this type of soil you must always eliminate excess moisture.

Terracotta floors

Terracotta is an extremely porous material and quickly absorbs dirt, stains and dust.

To wash a terracotta floor you will need:

  • 2 liters of hot water
  • half a glass of turpentine vinegar
  • 2 drops of floor cleaner
  • a few drops of lemon essential oil

Mix all the ingredients until they are integrated together. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the entire floor with this solution, going over it several times.

Dry immediately to avoid the formation of annoying halos.

Marble and granite floors.

They are very beautiful and elegant, but marble or granite floors require special care.

Below we suggest how to clean them naturally and avoid the use of chemicals:

  • 2 liters of hot water
  • 6 tablespoons denatured alcohol
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon liquid Marseille soap

Mix all ingredients in a bucket until completely incorporated. Dip a microfiber cloth into the bucket and use it to clean the entire floor.

You may have to wipe the microfiber cloth several times to get a perfectly clean floor.

Remember that absolutely no ingredients such as vinegar, citric acid or lemon should be applied to marble, stone or granite floors: they could corrode, tarnish or even permanently stain them.
