How to disinfect and disinfect a mattress

Cleaning and disinfecting a mattress may seem like a difficult task, but in reality it is not at all if you use the right methods. You can clean and disinfect the mattress quickly and with ingredients, eliminating mites and stains that you surely already have at home.

You don’t need a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly clean a mattress . Perform a thorough manual cleaning using DIY products at least twice a year. Follow these simple steps to accomplish this task.

Remove the comforter and sheet and shake the mattress to remove any debris that has accumulated there.
Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with one quart of cold water until it foams.
Apply the foam to the mattress and rub it with a sponge over the entire surface, especially over the stains.
If possible, dry the mattress in the sun or with the help of a hairdryer.
Remove stains with baking soda
If you have a particularly old mattress, it’s probably stained too. Moisture and dirt can cause dark stains that are difficult to remove. Below we explain how to remove them with baking soda.

Mix 1 part baking soda with 2 parts cold water.
Apply to mattress stains and leave for 30 minutes.
Remove the baking soda with a damp cloth and then allow it to dry thoroughly, preferably in sunlight.
Finally, vacuum to remove any baking soda residue.
How to clean and disinfect a mattress with vinegar
If there are sweat or urine stains on the mattress, we recommend cleaning and disinfecting it thoroughly with vinegar.

Dampen a clean cloth with liquid soap and water.
Fill a dry cleaner with 2 parts hot water and 1 part white vinegar, then rub it directly onto the stains.
Allow to dry well.
Vinegar helps eliminate mold and bacteria.
