HOW TO POLISH GOOD SERVICE SILVER CUTLERY

Silver cutlery , with its timeless charm and the elegance it gives to the table, is a true treasure in our homes.

Over time, alas, they can lose their shine due to oxidation. If your good cutlery set has ever been ruined, don’t worry!

You can polish them in a short time and with natural methods that you will find in your home, let’s discover all the steps together!

Sodium bicarbonate

I can’t begin to tell you all the tricks without putting baking soda on top of them all.

We are talking about a product that, year after year, has proven to be a precious ally for removing oxidation from silver, so it will be perfect for your cutlery.

All you have to do is prepare a paste with 1 tablespoon of baking soda and water , mix vigorously and stop when you see that it has the consistency of a gel.

Apply the mixture to the cutlery and leave it to act for at least 30-40 minutes . Then, with a soft bristle brush, gently scrub, rinse and dry the wool with a cloth.

You will immediately notice a big difference!

White vinegar

Together with sodium bicarbonate, white vinegar is also among the best tricks to give new shine to good silver cutlery. The properties of this product, in fact, also help to polish the steel sink .

In this case, all you have to do is soak the cutlery in a mixture of hot water and white vinegar (one part vinegar to two parts water) for about half an hour.

Once the necessary time has passed, you will have to remove the cutlery from the solution and rinse it with plenty of running water ; then dry them with a soft cloth and they will be very shiny!

Lemon juice

Just like vinegar, lemon juice is also known for its ability to remove stains and oxidation, as well as being fantastic for polishing any dull surface.

Squeeze the juice of a lemon onto a soft cloth or sponge and rub vigorously on the cutlery. Then soak in hot water and the juice of 1 lemon for 30 minutes .

At this point all you have to do is rinse and dry thoroughly. The result will be a natural shine that makes your silver cutlery look like new!

Salt Trick

Do you know the salt trick ? If not, the time has come to understand in detail this fantastic method that will make your good cutlery set shine!

Salt and aluminum foil can work together to eliminate oxidation in the blink of an eye . Salt has a strong degreasing power, while aluminum removes the dark patina, even if it is stubborn.

Place a sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom of a heat-resistant bowl, place the cutlery and cover it with a handful of coarse salt ; then pour in very hot water and leave to soak for a couple of hours.

When the water becomes lukewarm, remove the jewelry one by one, rub over a microfiber cloth and dry thoroughly.

Olive oil

After cleaning, to protect and give greater shine to the cutlery, you can use olive oil .

Apply a little oil to a soft cloth and rub it onto clean cutlery. This will create a thin protective film, preserving the beauty of the silver over time.
