Most homes are equipped with radiators, which remain the most popular heating system for keeping indoors warm and cozy in the dead of winter.

However, many people use humidifiers when they turn on radiators. You can make your own at home.

In this article, you will find all the steps you need to create a wonderful fragrance at home during the winter season.

What is needed?

To create your DIY humidifier, you will need to gather these ingredients and materials.

You will need to

1 glass jar
demineralized water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 orange
I advise you to use cinnamon correctly due to its intense flavor. It can be intoxicating if used in excess.

How is it prepared?

Once you have all the ingredients on hand, it’s time to start preparing the scented humidifier.

Start by cutting the orange into two halves. Squeeze one half to extract the juice, which you will put in a saucepan with water.

Cut the other half into slices and put them in the saucepan. Then she add a pinch of cinnamon. Put on low heat.

When the mixture comes to a boil, let it boil for 5 minutes before turning off the heat. Let cool and pour the mixture into the glass jar. Then place the jar on the radiator and that’s it!

Don’t forget to renew the mixture regularly when it dries completely.

Other alternative remedies to perfume your home

If you don’t like the aroma of orange and cinnamon together, you can opt for other ingredients.

Bay leaves: prepare an infusion by stirring 5 or 6 bay leaves in a saucepan. Next, pour the mixture into a jar.

Essential oils: add 4 or 5 drops of the essential oil you prefer to the infusion and follow the same steps described above.
Vanilla pod: If you like a sweet but intense aroma, open half a vanilla pod, let it infuse and pour the resulting solution into the jar.
Lavender flowers: to enjoy the wonderful aroma of lavender, prepare a good infusion with a teaspoon of lavender flowers. Next, pour it into the jar and place it on the radiator.
