Pour a pinch of vinegar into your washing machine – get rid of stains and odors

Doing laundry isn’t one of my favorite things to do, but I always feel good when my clothes are clean and I can sleep on fresh sheets again.

It sounds easy, but for me, doing laundry can be harder than math.

I wish there were books on this topic. They might not make for the most interesting reading, but they would definitely help a lot.

I had to learn the hard way myself – and I ruined a lot of clothes during my trip.

I usually follow the washing instructions found on clothing labels. But it seems like every item of clothing is delicate, as the instructions rarely recommend washing clothes above 30°C. I think that’s crazy because clothes can’t be cleaned at this temperature!

But after discovering a housemother trick that my friend’s grandmother has used for decades, my clothes come out sparkling clean every time.

Now I know that doing laundry doesn’t have to be such a stressful experience and that’s why I’m sharing this trick with you here.

The secret is white wine vinegar. It can do wonders for your clothing on multiple levels.

Removes stubborn stains

Soak clothes with heavy stains in water with 1/2 cup of white vinegar, soak for 30-60 minutes, then wash according to instructions. The stains are now a thing of the past.

Neutralizes Odors
Strong odors like sweat and cigarette smoke will disappear instantly when you pour some white vinegar into your washing machine.

Prevents static clinging
Some fabrics become static after washing. And it’s no fun when your blouse sits on your body like a sausage casing. Pour some white vinegar into your washing machine can also help with this problem.

Easily removes pet hair and lint
Sometimes my laundry comes out of the machine “clean” but it is still covered in hair and lint. It will be much easier to get rid of unwanted hair and lint if you add a little vinegar to your washing machine.

Removes yellow spots

White clothes have a special ability to get yellow stains under the arms. Both sweat and deodorant are to blame. Pour a little vinegar into your washing machine and the stains will disappear in no time.

Removes Detergent Stains
Pour half a cup of white vinegar into your washing machine and you’ll get rid of those ugly white powder lines that detergent sometimes leaves behind.

Cleans the washing machine

Another important thing to check is whether your washing machine is clean. You may think that when the machine cleans your clothes, it automatically cleans itself. But washing machines sometimes need a little care.

Not only will your clothes last longer, they will also be cleaner – most importantly, smell fresher.
