Reduce ironing time by learning how to dry clothes: you will be surprised by the results.

Ironing is one of the most exhausting household tasks. It requires time and precision. Above all, it requires effort. Fortunately, you can significantly reduce the time spent ironing if you are careful when drying your clothes.

Wash clothes well

In the washing phase, you have to pay attention to certain details to speed up ironing. Pay close attention to all the information on the label about the washing program, temperature and spin.

In general, you should opt for a short wash cycle at a temperature between 30 and 40ºC. When spinning, do not exceed 800 rpm. Keep in mind that very hot water tends to wrinkle the fibers. As long as there are no stubborn stains, you can wash at low temperature.

Also, remember to moderate the amount of detergent you use, as it tends to harden fabrics and make ironing difficult.

As soon as the wash cycle is finished, remove the clothes from the washing machine immediately. The longer you wait, the more your clothes will wrinkle.
Get in the habit of shaking out your clothes before hanging them. This loosens the fabric and makes ironing easier. Do it 2 or 3 times if the clothes are heavy.
Spread sheets, tablecloths, and blankets to dry.
Clothespins are often blamed for causing wrinkles in clothing. Therefore, avoid the use of tweezers as much as possible.
As an alternative to clothespins, hang your clothes on hangers with the buttons closed. Do this while the clothes are still damp.
Place the clips under the armpits or in the seams to avoid leaving marks.
Adjust the hems and hang the jeans around the waist.
In winter, hang your clothes on a hanger in the shower and let the hot steam straighten the fibers naturally.
Avoid drying clothes in the sun, especially silk and wool.
