A much more effective and resistant substitute for glue and soldering irons

If you are a DIY enthusiast, you probably have glue or a soldering iron in your toolbox. With them you can repair cracks in the plastic. However, they seem ineffective and do not last long enough. That’s why you need to know this much stronger substitute. It’s called liquid plastic.

The idea is to make liquid plastic that can be used for the welding technique known as chemical welding. These are the steps to follow to prepare your homemade glue:

Take a plastic object, which can be small pieces to collect;
Put them in a syringe and add pure acetone;
Wait two hours and you will have a very strong liquid plastic;
You can apply it immediately on the broken part, but in moderation.
Another alternative technique that you can adopt

To repair broken plastic, you can also make a thicker compound using polystyrene and acetone. Here we’ll explain to you how to do it:

Put some polystyrene in acetone until it forms a kind of ball;
Next, put metal tape over the damaged plastic and place the ball on top;
Let dry for a whole day;
Then you can remove the metal tape and that’s it.
Extra tip: what if the plastic is colored?

In this case, you will put spray paint on the aforementioned compound. Choose the color you want and mix it all together. Next, place a small piece of aluminum tape on the area in question and pour the colored liquid plastic. Let it dry for 24 hours before removing the tape.
