Wash the duvet: just put it in the washing machine

Washing the duvet is an unavoidable household task when winter approaches. The arrival of harsh winter forces us to resort to all kinds of solutions to warm ourselves, including radiators and cozy wraparound blankets. However, before covering yourself with a duvet, you must first put it in the washing machine. Here is an effective trick to achieve it.

Washing the duvet: easily put it in the washing machine

Putting the duvet in the washing machine drum can become a real obstacle course. Not only is it difficult, but the result is not worth it.

Duvets, honestly, are not machine washable, especially when they are natural coverings. Your first instinct should be to check the information on the wash label.

Please note that fibers and all natural materials are prohibited in the washing machine. Instead, it is advisable to put the cover in the washing machine or wash it by hand.

A synthetic duvet should also be treated the same way. Here’s how to do it:

Put the duvet in the bathtub or shower;
Add hot water, two tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of vinegar;
Follow with some Marseille flakes;
Let soak for a few hours;
Rinse well and squeeze out the product.
How do you dry clean?

This tip is for freshly washed comforters. The correct dry cleaning procedure is as follows:

Prepare 25 drops of tea tree oil with 10 drops of eucalyptus essential oil;
Pour in half a liter of water and add 3 tablespoons of baking soda;
Stir well and transfer the mixture to a sprayer;
Close and spray on the comforter;
Wait 20 minutes and brush with a special tool to avoid damaging the fabric.
