We all look forward to the  arrival of summer to enjoy the  hot days  personally, but let’s be honest, also to finally   get  wonderfully smelling laundry that dries easily without fear of the hated smell of humidity.

However, this is not always the case as it can happen that  our laundry does not smell  as we expected.  What did we do wrong?

In this context, today we will show you  5 tips on how you can try to have wonderfully smelling clothes even in summer!

What will you discover?

What can you use to make them more fragrant?

Even if the sun is a godsend for perfuming laundry, there are  other mistakes  that can affect the good smell of our clothes, including  using the wrong products.

In fact, we recommend that you always  use natural ingredients  because they are delicate and allow you  to refresh the fabrics  without weighing them down. Among these we recommend  Marseille soap  , known since our grandmothers for its ability to exude an intoxicating scent   !

Simply add   a portion of liquid Marseille soap   to the detergent dispenser and then start the wash cycle. Regardless of whether we are talking about natural pantry ingredients or commercial products, always remember  not to overdo the quantities  or, on the contrary,   not to use too little  , since  in both cases you could find the smell on your clothes.

In the laundry basket

In addition, you should keep in mind that it is better   not to leave particularly smelly clothes  in the dirty laundry basket for too long  before you start washing your clothes.

In this way we actually eliminate  these bad smells  and it will therefore be difficult to remove them. This speech applies in particular to the  sweaty bees  that we often encounter during this very hot season. So wash them immediately and if you have localized sweat stains, remove  them with these tricks!

When the washing process is finished

Also remember to  remove the laundry from the drum  and hang it up immediately after washing in the washing machine. In fact, we often tend to leave them there for a while until  we have the time  and desire  to hunt them.

However, this habit is completely wrong as it causes  the stagnant water to create a  damp and stale stench  that settles on the clothes and “  eats up all the good scent  ”. You will therefore be forced  to continue with a new wash cycle.

Once the clothes have been “collected” from the drum, it is  time to hang them  . This phase is just as important as  the washing phase  , since it often happens that clothes that we take out of the washing machine  have a strong scent, but  after drying they no longer have that nice scent.

So this means that there  were some “glitches” during the drying phase. The first of these could be  hanging too many clothes  and not giving them enough space to dry  by absorbing sunlight  .  Therefore, we always advise you  to hang several items at the same time and take up as much space as possible.

Another  golden rule  is to hang your  clothes in the sun,  because clothes exposed to direct sunlight  can produce fabrics that give off a pleasant scent  .  But at the same time, keep in mind that clothes exposed to the sun for too long can dry out so much that they lose their good smell and  even become rough, like towels.

We therefore recommend that you  take off the freshly dried clothes immediately  so that the good smell remains even when you wear them and, above all, expose the clothes to the sun when the  sun is not yet very strong  , i.e. in the early hours of the morning.

Cleaning the washing machine

A final reason why clothes tend to smell is  the buildup of dirt in the washing machine.   We therefore remind you  to carry out an empty wash at least once a month by adding about 150 g of citric acid to 1 liter of water, mix this mixture, pour it into the drum and  start the empty wash cycle.

In addition, it is important  to also pay attention to the other components of the washing machine, such as the gasket and the drawer, where dirt accumulates quickly and easily.
