Clean your washing machine thoroughly so that no lint remains on your clothes: 3 easy tricks

The washing machine is undoubtedly one of the most important appliances in our home and makes our lives easier, especially when we need to wash duvets or sheets. However, every time you wash your clothes in the washing machine, dirt and soap residue accumulates , which can damage the clothes.

To extend the life of the washing machine, regular maintenance is essential. This removes dirt and soap residue, which also leads to the formation of germs and bacteria that cause bad smells.

As a rule of thumb, you should clean the inside of the washing machine once a month, but this depends largely on the frequency of use. Below we recommend three tricks to thoroughly clean your washing machine and prevent lint from remaining on your laundry

Trick Nr. 1
This trick involves using white vinegar, which is great for disinfecting and is acidic enough to help remove residue that builds up in the washing machine. In addition, bad smells are eliminated.

Fill the washing machine with hot water and pour in 500 ml of vinegar. Start a short wash cycle, then add the baking soda and start a new wash cycle.

Repeat this trick once a month to avoid lint on your clothes.

Trick Nr. 2
This trick is useful if mold has formed on the seal of the washing machine. Since this part of the washing machine retains a lot of moisture, it is susceptible to mold growth and bad smells.

Wearing gloves, mix 60 ml of lemon juice with 200 ml of hydrogen peroxide and 3 liters of water.

Fold the rubber of the washing machine seal and scrub it with a sponge and the freshly prepared ecological disinfectant. Dry with a clean cloth.

Trick Nr. 3
To extend the life of the washing machine filter, cleaning the filter is essential. Dirt and detergent residues accumulate on it, which, if not removed, will reduce the efficiency of the washing machine.

Remove the filter completely and then use your hands to remove any dirt that has accumulated on it. Finally, use a toothbrush to make sure you remove all the dirt before reinserting it.
