Everyone has a microwave in their kitchen. It is one of the most used appliances for cooking or heating meals and, precisely for this reason, it is also one of the dirtiest.
That is why it is important to disinfect it periodically and also to be efficient . To make sure of the latter, we bring you this article in which we share some of the best cleaning methods.
Almost all of them involve some type of prior preparation of a solution. Fortunately, all the ingredients that we offer you in each of the methods are easily found in any home or, rather, kitchen.
Be careful with following step by step the method that seems most effective to you or, simply, the one that you have the ingredients to carry out.
Tip 1: lemon extract
One of the easiest ways to clean the inside of your microwave is to use lemon juice.
What do you need?
- 1 lemon
- Water (250ml)
Instructions for cleaning the microwave with lemon
- Cut the lemon in half.
- Put the two halves in a microwave-safe container and add the water.
- Place the container with the lemon in the microwave and heat everything for a minute and a half or even two.
- Let the steam take effect for a few minutes.
- Open the microwave and wipe the entire surface with a damp cloth until all stains and old food remains are removed.
If you prefer, you can squeeze the lemon and mix the juice with the water instead of cutting it in half. The final result will be the same.
Tip 2: detergent
What do you need?
- Water (250ml)
- Detergent (1 tablespoon)
- Sponge
Instructions for cleaning the microwave with detergent
- Place the water in a microwave-safe container.
- Pour the tablespoon of detergent into said container.
- Stir a little to mix everything.
- Heat the container in the microwave for 1 minute.
- Be careful not to let the liquid overflow (just in case).
- When the time has passed, remove the container and clean the inside of the microwave with a sponge soaked in soapy water.
- Wipe with a sponge until no more stains remain , then wipe again with a damp cloth. Make sure there is no detergent left anywhere, as we don’t want any detergent left the next time you reheat the food.
