In summer we all tend to sweat more and therefore we often find sweat stains on our clothes, mainly concentrated in the armpit area .
The problem is greater if the shirts are dyed as these stains may be more difficult to remove without risking the garments fading.
But don’t despair! Today we will see together how to remove sweat stains from colored shirts without the risk of them fading!
What will you discover?
Bicarbonate
First, we recommend using baking soda, a pantry ingredient known for its cleaning properties and mild abrasive action , effectively removing sweat stains without damaging fabric.
So all you have to do is add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a bowl of cold water and then immerse the colored shirts with sweat stains in the resulting mixture.
Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then gently scrub the affected area with an old toothbrush or brush. Finally, rinse and continue with the usual wash, preferably with Marseille soap.
Alternatively, you can mix the baking soda with water until you have a mixture that you can massage directly onto the sweat stain. Your shirts will be like new!
Vinegar
In addition to baking soda, there is another pantry ingredient that can help with sweat stains: vinegar . In fact, not only does it succeed in removing stains and eliminating the smell of sweat , but it is also a godsend for reviving faded colored garments!
To try it, you need to pour a glass of white vinegar into a bowl of cold water and soak the colored shirt for about an hour. Next, rub the stain with a brush, especially in the armpit area , rinse and continue with your usual wash.
If you want quicker relief, you can also dab a cloth soaked in water and vinegar directly on the stain, leave it to act for a while and then immerse the item of clothing in cold water for about half an hour. The color of your shirts will be more vibrant than ever!
