How to wash and polish the floor with bicarbonate (without leaving streaks)

Cleaning floors is one of the heaviest household chores to carry out, not only if we live in very large houses. This is a long process, which first involves using the broom or vacuum cleaner, and then the actual washing.

Not to mention the various headaches that can arise depending on the type of floor: some materials are more sensitive to certain products, while others even require the use of specific and sometimes expensive cleaning products.

Below we will explain how to prepare a DIY detergent based on bicarbonate that allows us to clean almost all types of floors, leaving them very shiny and streak-free .

For regular cleaning , capable of removing surface dirt and neutralizing odors , the process is quite simple.

Simply dissolve about 200 grams of baking soda well in a bucket full of warm water and use a rag to clean the entire surface of the floor.

To prevent streaks from remaining, rinse with water only .

If you also want to give a touch of perfume to the floor you can add a few drops of an essential oil of your choice (I particularly like the lemon one).

If there are stubborn stains on the floor , before washing the floor, wet a sponge in a solution of vinegar and bicarbonate and rub it on the stain.

Baking soda is also very useful for thoroughly cleaning and lightening grout . Again, before washing the floor, pour some bicarbonate of soda between the joints and use an old toothbrush moistened with water to scrub well.
