Although   ants   are considered harmless, they are usually very annoying as  they often invade the home  and sometimes build nests.

Often we find them  on the countertop  or on the surfaces closest to our food, and then they become  a big problem.

For this reason, today we will see together  how to make a natural ant repellent  using only natural and pantry ingredients!

What will you discover?

The first DIY repellent we recommend  is baking soda, an ingredient that can keep ants away from  our home  .

So all you have to do is pour half a liter of water into a spray bottle and then   add 2 tablespoons of baking soda.  Next, shake the  spray bottle  vigorously to mix the ingredients and spray the resulting mixture  in the parts  of the house where you  have most noticed the presence of ants.

And voilà:  the ants in the house are just a bad memory!

Another very effective remedy is the use of  vinegar  , whose strong and pungent smell  acts as a natural repellent for these insects.  Therefore, to test it, you need to   pour equal amounts of water and vinegar into a spray bottle, shake it vigorously and let the resulting mixture  evaporate along the trajectory “traveled” by the ants.

For an  even more effective effect , we also recommend cleaning   the floor with a mixture of water, vinegar and a few drops of lemon essential oil  . You will notice  that the ants turn back!

Note:   We recommend never   using vinegar  on marble or natural stone floors as it could corrode them.

Another food ingredient that can help you with ants in the house is coffee   Although the scent of this product is very popular with us, it is considered annoying for ants and  is therefore repulsive.

In addition,  coffee grounds appear to contain  some substances such as   caffeine and diterpenes, which are considered real  natural  insecticides    . Then add a little   coffee powder   to the places where the ants hang out the most  and the game is done!

As if that wasn’t enough, coffee powder is also a godsend   for keeping wasps away  : just put it in a bowl and  burn it like incense  .

Mint and bay leaf

There are aromatic herbs that are known precisely for their ability  to keep away insects thanks to their smell.  These include  mint and bay leaf  ,  used at home to refresh and deodorize.

It is therefore enough  to break these leaves into pieces  and place them  in the places in the house  where you have seen the ants. The next day you will notice that the ants  have left your house!

In addition, we would like to remind you that   bay leaf   is an ingredient that   can also keep cockroaches and cockroaches away from our homes.

Cinnamon and cloves

Finally, let’s look at one last trick, which is to   combine cinnamon and cloves together. Although these ingredients  are known for their intoxicating scent  , ants don’t seem to think so, but  rather find their smell annoying.

To try this trick, you simply have to place bundles of cinnamon   and cloves   in the parts of the house where you have noticed the presence of ants and   leave them for a few hours or days : you will notice that the ants will no longer visit you !
